The #1 reason why someone should hire you

by Sally Hogshead on September 24, 2012

Your personality has one distinct advantage.

This advantage is your highest and most unique value.

It’s what makes you different– and better– than everyone else in the crowd.

It’s the essence of your personal brand. This is what makes you, YOU!

I just recorded this quick video for you, to give a sneak peek of our newest research. As you’ll see, I turned my downstairs into a fascination fiesta for the day. (I’m excited… can you tell? Hey, I’m primary Passion trigger.)

0 The #1 reason why someone should hire you

You don’t have to work hard to use your advantage. It’s effortless. It’s as natural as a talent for writing, or for playing tennis. But as with any other talent, your main advantage must be identified and applied in order for you to reach your potential. Here, I’ll give a few quick examples:

» If your primary trigger is Power, you naturally lead by communicating with authority.

» If your primary trigger is Trust, you easily earn loyalty by being a consistent and familiar presence.

» If your primary trigger is Alarm, you always keep things on track by managing the details.

Last week, I released a major update on the Fascination Advantage personality reports. You can get your complete  report for just $37, or buy two at a discount for $29 each. If you get one for a co-worker or customer, you can compare results, which is pretty cool.

Your report will tell you the #1 reason why someone should buy from you, listen to you, or hire you. With about 120,000 participants so far, we’ve learned how to predict how your personal brand adds unique value. (In fact, this new complete report is actually $12 less expensive than the previous, because we automated the analytics of your score.)

You can rise above the fray. You can be heard, and remembered. And you do it by using your natural advantage.

How?

The greatest way to add value is to become more of yourself.

Sally – I generally love your pieces, but please banish “reason why” from use.  It is redundant.

BC, you’re right– redundancy is not fascinating. Thank you for helping me prune my prose.

Hi Sally first time here.  I like your descriptions of personality.  I guess (No disrespet intended BC) Mr. Hadley might have an alarmist personality by your defintion?

SC, welcome! If this is your first visit to the site, dare I say, you catch on quickly with how the 7 triggers work.

People with a primary Alarm trigger are gifted in watching the details. I score low on Alarm, so if others can help keep me in on track, I’m all for it.

I might add that your personality has a dash of Rebellion trigger, too. :-)

Now Sally is launching Howtofascinate.com, that take her system of 7 triggers even further. At the LinkedOC event she announced for the first time her matrix of triggers, the 49 personalities that you will get by combining your primary and secondary trigger. Your secondary trigger plays a major role in who you are and makes you 2 dimensional.
