Your communication is being ignored.
Your messages are forgotten.
Your voicemails are deleted without even being heard.
In this video, I’ll explain why.
How can you triumph over this communication killer? How can you captivate your listener so intently that they’re distracted by nothing at all– except the hope that you’ll continue to speak?
First, check out the pre-launch release of HowToFascinate.com.
Next, tell me in a comment below… What is the WORST distraction that you face in a meeting or conversation? (Is it the buzzing iPhone? The conversations going on around? Or is it… reading the Hog Blog right here, during a meeting, when you should theoretically be paying attention to someone or something else?)

A very specific situation: Once a year we attend the Opera America conference where we attempt to sell our product and make connections in the 15, 20 or 30 minute breaks that attendees get between sessions. They are distracted by their limited time, the beverage/coffee bar, and the chaos of the room with everyone milling about. We are an actual shiny object- but still have trouble commanding attention.
Hmmm… I was just going to send a text to their shiny object.
My No. 1 distraction in almost every situation is my own imagination. I’m a writer, and the stories in my head are almost always more interesting (to me, anyway) than the real world. Being mindful — being HERE, NOW, is something I struggle with continually.
